Lamisil (terbinafine) is an antifungal medication that fights the good, the bad, and the young. It belongs to a class of drugs known as phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. The bad news is that terbinafine can cause liver problems.
Lamisil works by inhibiting the action of PDE5, which increases the levels of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) in the body.
